Emma's funny account of horrendous family camping holidays as a child. Some of the things that happen to her and her family are almost unbelievable!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Sending it to WormyOne for her to dwell in camping memories

Many thanks weeisisj. I have a feeling this will strike a chord. I'm going to read it and then give it to my Mum on her birthday.
The blurb reads:
"For the 70s child, summer holidays meant being crammed into a car with Grandma and heading to the coast. With just a tent for a home and a bucket for the necessities, we would set off on new adventures each year, stoically resolving to enjoy ourselves.
For Emma Kennedy, and her mum and dad, disaster always came along for the ride no matter where they went. Whether it was being swept away by a force ten gales on the Welsh coast or falling down a squat toilet in the first few hours of a brave trip to France, family holidays always left them battered and bruised.
But they never gave up. Emma's memoir, The Tent, The Bucket and Me, is a painfully funny reminder of just what it was like to spend your summer holidays cold, damp but with sand between your toes".

Born to teacher parents in the same year as Emma Kennedy, I found this book full of experiences I shared. Although my family's camping holidays in the UK and France weren't dogged with quite the level of misfortune as were the Kennedy's, I recognised many of their mishaps. This is a light, funny read that I'd recommend to anyone whose 1970s summer home was a frame tent.

Apologies for this vague release note. I've just seen this book on my BC bookshelf but it's no longer in my possession. I must have released it and forgotten to update BC! So sorry. Let's hope it's caught and journalled one day so we relocate it!
