I really enjoyed this book. Michael Moore has some interesting and valid opinions. (as far as I am concerned)
Either way it will spark some thinking about the state of affairs in the US

Enjoyed this very much, raced through it. If it wasn't for the humour you'd think this was written as an anger management assignment!
As a Brit I can't comment on the state of the USA, I'm very much of the opinion that it's ok to listen to someone criticise their own country/family/partner, but it doesn't go down too well if you join in! But I do believe there is strength & courage in a warts and all look in the mirror, and more of us should be doing it.

Posting to Ishsmom on 29th August

Received this yesterday from the UK. Started reading while on my bus ride to work today. I usually don't go for lots of whining and complaining about the way things are and look more for ways to make things better......but the early discussion about the 2000 election was eye-opening, so I'm planning on sticking with this one and will reserve my judgement for the end of the book.

Received yesterday and started reading today. By coincidence, my husband and I just watched Michael Moore's "Bowling For Columbine" on Sunday night, so I should be in the proper frame of mind for reading this one.

Lots of commentary on the "election" of GW Bush, but after a while, it seemed more like ranting. Overall I enjoyed it, but I think I'll stick with Michael Moore's movies from now on.

Ooh finally! I have been wanting to read this book for months. The package was waiting by my door when I got home yesterday and I immediately started reading the introduction. This is not the kind of book that you should read if you are depressed or irritated and my husband threatened to lock me up in the bedroom so he can watch the evening news in peace and quiet :-) I will report back when I am done reading it.

After reading the entire book, I have to ask: Is there any good guys left in the USA? Michael Moore rants about almost everybody who is/was running the country. If only a small percentage of everything he says is true, things were going down-hill for the past few decades. As I am not living in the US, I cannot judge ... I hope the book opens many eyes and that it might have some small impact on next year's election (although, if Michael Moore is right, all politicans are crooked to some degree and how many people who does not agree with him will actually read this book?)

On a lighter note, I enjoyed the book quite a bit. The author has a very sharp wit and manages to entertain and educate at the same time (I especially enjoyed the boxes with quick facts, tips and extracts from the contitution). Thanks for including me on the bookray LeapingLizzardz!
