This is better than the second book, but it has its own weirdness, too.

I finished reading this book today. It took me a while to get back into the series, since its been 4 years since I read the first 2 books (Black Cauldron). It doesn't seem to be as good of a read as others. Some things just seem to work out conveniently for the author (like Llyan becoming a friend instead of enemy) and other things were rather predictable. Of course, Princess Eilonwy loves Taran and isn't going to marry Prince Rhun. I knew that from the beginning ... there just isn't enough story around that theme. So now we have the evil Achren still alive (even after trying to kill herself). Why are we allowing the evil character to live??? She'll probably turn up in the last 2 books to make their lives miserable again.
