When Kate Ivory returns from holiday, a phone call from a concerned friend gives her some rather alarming news. Apparently Kate's normally vibrant and energetic mother Roz is a shadow of her former self, and looks very ill indeed. When Kate visits her mother, Roz sends her away, insisting that her new friends, the Freemans, are taking care of her. Although the couple seems kind-hearted, something about them disturbs Kate. Are they more interested in her mother’s new-found wealth than in her health? Kate decides to look into the Freemans’ background. In an investigation that takes her right across the country, she uncovers a trail of deception and soon realises that her mother may not be the only one in danger…

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Taking along to the meet on Thurs 26th August. Fun starts at 7pm!
Not sure whether I'll read this or theme release. I know a lot of people rave about Veronica Stallwood books but I've not read any before. Being set in Oxford I'm curious to location spot. Picked up at the Dukes Cut last night
I had been saving this as after reading Oxford Exit (one of the earlier ones) I decided to try and find the books in between before reading this one. However, I'd like to take some Oxford books to the Oxford Convention so thought I'd get on with reading this. I really enjoyed it. I love the way that the Oxford in this books feels like the Oxford I know. The characters are believable and I like the fact these books are not doorsteps so you can quickly read them. Having only read two now and quite far spaced apart I can't tell if I'm missing much by not reading in order. Will be trawling the charity shops for more now.

Released 9 yrs ago (4/10/2015 UTC) at Bookcrossing Convention 2015 in Oxford, Oxfordshire United Kingdom
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Taking along to the world convention in Oxford, England. An appropriate choice of book.
Received in the Bookswap Game at the Oxford Convention - it sounds great, thank you!
When Kate Ivory's mother gets ill, she has two new friends who are there to look after her. But Kate is suspicious of the newcomers, who seem determined to push herbs and healthy living onto her mother rather than getting her to see a doctor. Are the couple as charming as they seem or are they fraudsters? A totally gripping page-turner.
