Giles Blunt crafts characters that are believable and the storyline forces you to look for the next book to find out what happens to the characters. Great series.

Bringing this book to the BC Meeting today at the Joshua Tree Cafe.
I picked this book up from rureading today at the Calgary BC meeting at the Joshua Tree cafe. I'm looking forward to reading this one after rureadings rave reviews :) Thank you!
Wow! This is definitely one of the more intense books I`ve read lately. Not for the squeamish. Great writing, sympathetic characters( neat twists with some of the character development), loved that it is set in Canada. Very believable and quite scary. Totally a pot-boiler - I couldn`t put it down once I started
I will not hesitate to look for more Giles Blunt - you`ve got me hooked , rureading ;-)
I`m going to bring this to the Mystery BC meeting on the 12th.

I`m going to bring this to the Mystery BC meeting on the 12th.
I am taking this excellent mystery to release to a fellow bookcrosser at the BC meeting at the Joshua Tree for the Mystery theme meeting.
Picked up this book at the Calgary BookCrossing February meet-up. Never read anything by Giles Blunt before but it sounds good.
This book reminded me a lot of the Rebus series. Cardinal could totally hang with Rebus and they could be depressed and solve crimes together. Blunt takes a different route with the killer in this story and it was more interesting than watching the detectives try to figure out whodunit. I would definitely check out the other books.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Releasing this book for the March Calgary BookCrossing meet-up. If it didn't go home with someone it's on the bookshelf.
Read this on my holidays and enjoyed it all the way through. It had some interesting twists and really explored human nature. I liked the main character.
Taking to Joshua Cafe tomorrow for August meeting to pass on.
On the cover... "one of the finest crime novels I've ever read" Sounds good to me!
Interesting book. I thought that I would really enjoy a book set in Canada, but as it was in northern Ontario and winter......not as enjoyable as a warm summer beach setting! But I did enjoy the book. A bit hard to read certain parts, especially in the middle of the night.
Sing-song has the next book so perhaps I can continue with the series once she is done.

Taking to bookcrossing meeting in hopes of finding a new owner...or should I say renter.
No takers so I brought it home for my husband to read as I have enjoyed the series so much.
Taking to the Dec. meeting at Joshua Tree Cafe. My husband has finished this now and is addicted to the series. Knew he would like it.
Ok, folks - How did I end up taking home so many books again? Great reviews and I'm sure gaining more knowledge of and respect for our Canadian writers!
Great mystery/thriller. I don't read very many of these, but I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Will be taking this to the February meet-up of Calgary BookCrossers, at the Joshua Tree Café.

Grabbed at get together
Finished this crime novel tonight. It was a very well written piece of work. For my tastes it was a bit slow in the beginning and I tended to skim, but as it got going I really got into it. Some parts were predictable, though others weren't, and I think there's only the sequence that I found unnecessary in the book. I'm a bit sad to say that I was well familiar with the various medieval torture devices since when I was younger the fact that people actually spent time coming up some such things fascinated me. Though the thought of torture in present day, even in works of fiction, makes me a little queasy.
Thanks for the thrilling read!

Passed on to another Book Crosser at get together
Brought this home from the August BookCrossing meeting. The first inthe series.
I've had the 2nd book in this series for a while but haven't read it yet as I wanted to read in order. Quite enjoyed this first one. The main character is somewhat flawed but still likeable. I'm somewhat familiar with the area in which this is supposed to take place so that's kind of fun too. Looking forward to reading book two now.
Taking this to the December book crossing meeting to be shared with another reader
Picked up at yesterday's Calgary BookCrossing meeting. Sorry for the late entry.
This was a good read - I got into it only after they introduced the murderer. It's been a while since I read a good mystery (been avoiding them lately for some reason) so this was a nicely paced one for my liking.
Will be brought to the next Calgary bookcrossing meeting and handed off.
