I haven't read this, but this description made me think it must be pretty quirky: "Chock-a-block with local color and cosmic lunacy, James Alexander Protzman's first novel is the opposite of a Chinese meal: the prose is lean and the style spare, but this tasty text continues to satisfy long after the last page is turned."

Ok, I got sucked in. I was only going to choose two books from the Bizarre Fiction Bookbox, but then I picked this one up and read the first couple of pages. I have to continue now. *sigh*
