Santa Steps Out

If you want to trade, let me know, you have to be over 18 for this book. It has a lot of sex in it.
Got this as part of a trade with fellow Bookcrosser Buffyfan! I was really wanting to re-read this and now I have a chance! This is the fun and exciting tale of Santa, Mrs. Santa, the Elves, the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, Zeus, and plenty of other fairy tale characters. Not for the squeamish, prudish, or underage reader, for sure. This is one of those books that is so nasty, grotesque and naughty, you can't help but read and love it!
This book is now traveling in a bookray. It's a pretty simple concept really. A group of people sign up, one person reads the book, then passes it on to the next person, on down the line. The person at the end of the ray can do with the book as they please. When you get the book, please journal stating that it has arrived, and again after you have read the book with your thoughts. Click on the person on the list below you, send them a PM for their address and send it on. Happy Bookcrossing, folks, and hope you enjoy the book!!

Definitely an "R" rated book. It wasn't even the gratuitous sex that got me. I was just bored reading it. I wish Devereaux had gotten into the legend of all of the mythical characters sooner. That was an interesting aspect...I don't know. I just wasn't impressed.

Just got this one in as part of a bookray that includes several of my horrortrade buddies. I have been hearing about this one for a long time so I am looking forward to reading it. As soon as I finish it will be headed out to the next one on the list!
YEA!! Got this in the mail today. It is behind one other bookring in my TBR pile so I should get to it shortly. Will journal again upon finishing.
I really tried, but I just couldn't get into this book. It's taking me forever to get as far as I have into it (about 50 pages), it just isn't holdin my attention. I'm going to send it on so I don't hold up the ring trying to get it finished. I have Dusties' address from a previous time, so I will put this in the mail ASAP. Thanks for the chance to read it Jaremeister.
This came in yesterday's mail.. perfect timing for Christmas! This book is next in line to read as soon as I finish "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time". Will journal here again soon.

Wow what a raunchy book.. not good sensual sex at all... the book from front to back was raw hard bang-banging! I can see why folk's will have a hard time with the content of this book... and the author does some good explaining in the back, but I think those folk's with strong religious belief's will not like this book at all.
Mrs. Claus was no prude as we learned.. I think if Santa had brought the tooth fairy home, she would have worked her majic on the Mrs. and all would have been good to go! I didn't like the way the tooth fairy and the easter bunny turned out. and poor Lucifer! He was the innocent one! I also wanted to say, I was totally wrong about who I thought Santa was prior to his becoming Santa.. I dug too deep and well, with his Raindeer's name, I played word scramble with Santa's name(Santa) and assumed that's who Santa was "before". But alas.. it was a simple one I thought too hard on.
And... I didn't think it was a horror story, until the Easter Bunny ruined Christmas Eve... woooo he was bad!

Can you say "WOW"?? lol
This was a great book! I can see why some are offended..but I am not easily offended. I also think that this writer is one of the best I've ever read. The scenes are so vivid! The words describe the setting/characters etc. so well...The book is alive!!!
I won't ruin it by saying anything about. I will say, this is a MUST READ book!!

Well, people certainly do have varied opinions of this book! I guess I'll have to make up my own mind. Though if Poppy Z. Brite liked it, I have high hopes.
I tried twice. I couldn't get into it, but thought perhaps I just wasn't in the mood, and decided to put it aside and try again later. But the next time I tried, I had the same reaction. The narrative is unfocused, and the sex scenes are boring and mechanical. I had the sense that the author really didn't care about his book, that he just wanted to épater le bourgeoisie. Reminded me of the "Disneyland Memorial Orgy", but not as clever or funny.
So I haven't finished this and will send it on to the next person.

In December of 1970, the Tooth Fairy, naked except for a necklace of blood-flecked teeth, decides upon a plan - a plan to seduce Santa Claus.
You see, before the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and even God are who they are now, they used to be creatures from Greek mythology with completely different aspects and desires. The Tooth Fairy, though, is the only one that retains her persona from that time and she’s done with the way things are now. Her seduction of Santa Claus sets in motion events that have huge repercussions not just for these magical creatures, but for several humans as well.
At first, I had great difficulty getting into the book and I suspected that I wasn’t going to like it. Yes, Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy are having wild, kinky sex (occasionally in the bed of a sleeping child, nonetheless). Yes, it’s terribly shocking to see figures from our childhood given such base emotions. But is it a good read?
I was inclined to say no and half believing I wasn’t even going to finish the novel when, for whatever reason, I found myself becoming more interested in the story and the characters and wondering how it was going to turn out. While it never will never make my favorite book list, Santa Steps Out did manage to hold my attention and I enjoyed the way the book ended.

Gave to my wonderful friend Sydney last night when we met up for Tiara Happy Hour at the Flying Saucer. I hope you like the book, Syd!
