Perhaps Harris' second novel? an early effort, at any rate . . . shows the promise of her wonderful characterization already.
This is a gritty story of rape and redemption, and as I said earlier, very much an early effort from this novelist, who has clearly grown in skill and abilities since the 80s when this was penned.
