Vespers: An 87th Precinct Novel
2 journalers for this copy...
87th Precinct novels are always worth a read and this is no exception. In fact, this is one of my favorites in the series.
from the back cover:
Who butchered a troubled young priest in his own church? Did an overzealous gang of neighborhood Satanists have a hand in the bloody business? Or were there even darker doings behind the ornate closed doors of St. Catherine's?

The Beard gave a yelp of glee when he saw lots of Ed McBain mysteries in foovay's mystery bookbox, so I let him help me pick a couple out. Thanks foovay.
The Beard loved this. I myself prefer the more English kind of detective story. However this was a good page turner that kept me guessing until near the end, which I much prefer to mysteries that reveal the killer in the first few chapters. This is the first Ed McBain I've read and I shall definitely read more.
