Funny, intelligent, well written mystery featuring lawyer-turned-bored-stay-at-home-mother sleuth in Southern California. A bit reminiscent of Susan Isaacs. Some very amusing comments about the joys of motherhood, eg: "Anyone who tells you that having a child doesn't completely and irrevocably ruin your life is lying." First in a series - I'm already reading the seconfd one...
