Resurrection Dreams

From the back cover:
'Melvin was definitely the biggest creep in Ellsworth High, and the other kids mercilessly taunted him for his odd looks and weird behaviour. Vicki was the only one to stand by him but even she had to admit he'd gone too far when he dug up a body and attempted to bring it back to life with the aid of a car battery.
Years later Vicki still has nightmares about Melvin's 'joke' and now that she's back in Ellsworth, she knows she'll have to see him again. Recently released from a mental institution, Melvin is acting stranger than ever. His experiments with the dead have progressed and as soon as he can get Vicki - or rather her body - where he wants her, he can realise his most chilling dream of all...'
Good read, still kinky as hell but as good a horror as you'll come across without venturing into Mr. King's well-established character-driven territory. The blurb inside the cover describes Laymon as 'Stephen King without a conscience', and that sits pretty well with this story...nobody is safe.
Update 30/09/03
Headed out to Pam over in the US now...enjoy!

Just received this--looks like a good, creepy read! Many thanks lucycat!
This one kept me turning the pages! A great, genuine horror story. The only problem is, this was my last Laymon book available. I'll have to go on the hunt now...
I'll jump this one back into the relay soon.

WOW, a nice goodie box from my old pal MsPooh. Thanks so much.
Grossly entertaining. I enjoyed this little book very much. A bit of humor tossed it to help with the gross out effects..lol.

Got it, and I'm in the mood for a nice spooky read (the anti-holiday spirit, perhaps? =)) - it's up next. Thanks!
OK, "next" was strong, but I DID finally read it....in 2012! I'm sending it on its way through a request on BookMooch.
