I read this book a lot of years ago. Obviously we all know the plot. The book is a bit different - I seem to remember some more characters die than do so in the film, and there's more science and general thinking on evolution and the meaning of life in the book. The book is better than the film. Although this all seems so long ago now. I would still have been at school when I read this. How scary how time goes....

Yes, I thought you rang a bell. Was it Diana Wynne Jones and Veronika Decides to Die.

Take a deep breath, because this news may shock you, fair readers. I'm about to start reading this book! Afterwards, I will probably release it at a local exchange shelf, unless I can find another reader. I'm not sure how long it'll take me, because if it's sciencey I might not be able to concentrate on it much, but there we are. It's on my bedside table and waiting to be picked up.

Journal Entry 7 by Lottiotta at Swansea, Wales United Kingdom on Friday, December 23, 2011
A perfect book, beautifully executed. It was a stressful read, and written in a style that I'd describe as cold, but stunning. I would recommend it, though I wouldn't read it again.

Silly spoilers: My favourite character died, and there was a surprising amount of intestines in this book.

What with this comic, the season finale of Terra Nova and a dinosaury episode of Sliders, I feel a bit like I've been surrounded by dinosaurs!

Thank you for sending this so long ago, Ophelia. :) I will mark this as AVL, and hope that someone requests it for a trade; if they don't, it will probably end up on a book exchange shelf somewhere here in Swansea, and with any luck it'll get journalled.
