Selected by Dancesports from ApoloniaX's Fall '09 contemporary Asian literature VBB.

Though it seemed that Adiga was attempting irony and humor, that wore a little thin, and I found the story more disheartening than enlightening. I hope other readers will enjoy it more!

I found this a fast and easy read in comparison to some other books set in Asia.

This will be moving on soon.

I found this in my mailbox today--I must have won it in the post-VBB raffle. What a nice surprise! Thanks, dancesports!

The story gave a vivid picture of the contrast between the haves and have nots in India, told from the point of view of Balram, a driver. I found Balram at times endearing and at times disturbing, and the story at times blackly humourous and at times sad.

I'm hoping this book finds a new reader at this lovely Free Little Library!
