'Ten strangers, apparently with little in common, are lured to a mansion on an island off the coast of Devon by the mysterious U.N. Owen.
After dinner, a record begins to pay, and an unknown voice accuses each person of hiding a guilty secret. That evening, former reckless driver Tony Marston is murdered by a deadly dose of cyanide.
The tension escalates as the survivors realize the killer is not only among them but preparing to strike again... and again.
David Horovitch is well known for his role as Inspector Slack in the BBC Miss Marple series. His other television credits include 'Poirot', 'Deceit', 'Great Expectations' and 'The Sculptress'. His film credits includes '102 Dalmations' and 'An Unsuitable Job for a Woman'.
Running Time: approx. 3 hours.
Abridged by Kati Nicholl.
Produced by Michael Bartlett.
Executive Producer: Sue Cokyll.
3 CDs
MDA 2358.'

Bought from the Huntingdon Branch of 'The Works' for £3.99 - bargain as this sells for about £10-12 on Amazon.

Journal Entry 2 by AgnesXNitt from Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom on Sunday, April 18, 2010
Finished listening to last night whilst doing updating my pedicure - blimey, my Saturday evenings just fly past don't they?!
Although this story is downright creepy, not least the conclusion, and I do enjoy reading the book, I felt this audio edition was perhaps just a bit too long.
The suspense was built nicely by David Horowitz's reading style and characterisation, but blimey, it seemed to take a while to get to the third cd, and the story just seemed to drag a bit in my opinion.
So, creeped out and time to pass this one on, hmmm - ring perhaps?

Arrived safely this morning!
Thanks to send it to me Smurphie!
Thanks the notepads and the beautiful postcard as well! :)

Update: 2010.06.19.
Once I have already listened to, but once I would like to repeat it. It was a while when I realized why it was so familar, "The 10 little indians", I know this story with this title. This helped me to understand better, but I couldn't say that I understood everything. After one hour listening my unterstanding level is vanished, I hardly recognize any words. Listen to is still tiring to me. But I am developing, I feel it. :))

Update: 2010.06.27.
Slowly the CDs are ready to go, I do not promise that this week, but rather after 4th of July I am going to send them on. Thanks.

Audiobook received today, many thanks for passing it on hakkalina:-) Thanks for all the BC goodies too!

I'm not sure I'll have enough time to listen to this right away (lots and lots of work these days) so I might copy it to my computer and listen to it after the summer. Fear not Ms AgnesXNitt for I will make sure I update my JE then! Thanks again for being a constant purveyor of all things Christie/Poirot/Marple & friends:-)
