booktopia had a massive christmas/new year sale at the end of 2009, and i bought a huge stack of books - this was one of them. i told myself they'd be my christmas present to me, and it's a rationalisation that works just fine for me :) yes, i'm a book obsessive, and the fact that i bothered with an excuse is a rarity! looking forward to reading all of them!

interesting premise, although overlong and difficult to summarise. i nearly gave up halfway through, but hoped that my perseverance might be rewarded... i think my time would've been better spent re-reading an old favourite.
