RISING SUN
3 journalers for this copy...
I've been meaning to read this, but I haven't gotten around to it. Other books jump out at me whenever I approach my TBR mountain. Anyway, I'll try to read this one, but I'm not opposed to releasing to someone who really wants it. Just ask!
From the back cover:
On the forty-fifth floor of the Nakamoto Tower in downtown L.A.--the new American headquarters of the immense Japanese conglomerate--a grand opening celebration is in full swing.
On the forty-sixth floor, in an empty conference room, the dead body of a beautiful young woman is discovered.
The investigation begins...and immediately becomes a headlong chase through a twisting maze of industrial intrigue..a no-holds-barred conflict in which control of a vital American technology is the fiercely coveted prize--and the Japanese saying "business is war" takes on a terrifying reality...

Thanks mellion108. I received the book today and am looking forward to reading it very...um, relatively soon :)
Wow, I can't believe that I received this book nearly 4 years ago from mellion108 :o Anyhow, I decided to participate in the 2007 Keep Them Moving Challenge just to give me the "push" to read books that I have received from other BookCrossers. This was the first book I specifically read for this Release Challenge, owing to the fact that of all of the TBR books I have from other BookCrossers, this has been on my shelf the longest. Now on to what I thought of the book...
I'm sorry that it took me so long to read this book because I found it action-packed with plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting. It felt like some of the underlying focus on Japan's seemingly unethical ("business is war") stemming from a fundamentally diffferent view of how business is to be conducted was a bit overdone. But I will have to check some of the books Crichton referenced regarding Japanese-American business relations to tell for sure.

I've reclaimed this from the JRT Automotive OBCZ for release elsewhere since it has been languishing for several months now.
