Phuti found himself drawing up alongside a crowded minibus. He did not look at it, for there was nothing out of the ordinary to it, except for the fact that it carried, looking out of the window, Grace Makutsi, assistant detective, on her way home from the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.
Mme Makutsi recognised Phuti Radiphuti's car, and gave a start. She sat bolt upright, face close to the window, taking in first the car, then Phuti at the wheel, and then, in an awful heart-stopping moment, the figure of Violet Sephotho - false claimant of eighty per cent, writer of anonymous letters, Jezebel.

Even in the world of men, i.e., football the No. 1 Ladies manage to triumph.

What a lovely quality book - I am looking forward to catching up with Mma Ramotswe.
Another easy relaxed read. It moved quite slowly but that is the Botswana pace I suppose and is the beauty of these books. A few mysteries were solved and there were a few sticky moments but normal service was resumed in the end.
