I so was judgeing this by it's cover which is crap but it was actually a really good read. Am getting slightly fed up with chick lit books tho and I've still got a few to get through before I hit any hard reading. They all seem to follow the same plot with different characters. I agreed with whoever said in the book that 'Pop tarts' would be a good name for a girl band. Me and my sisters made up a girl band with that same name when we were younger.

Arrived safely in NJ, USA today after an exhausting trip across the pond! Thank you, Redfox5, for sharing this with me. I remember reading a magazine blurb about this a while back and thought I might enjoy it ... especially after some intense reads that are on my shelf. I promise this will move along quickly. Love the cover with the girls wearing a pair of wellies instead of the Choo shoes. lol.

This fun and easy read is not your typical chick-lit. Sure it is entertaining but its not a fluff read. The characters are smart. The two main characters are women with real-life pressures and it is something everyone can understand. I don't want to give the story away but I will say that I really liked Maddy and Izzie alot! A good tale of friendship and life from beginning to end.

I must admit that sometimes I don't enjoy stories set in UK simply because I don't understand some of the lingo but that is not the case here. The lingo is understandable by all with the fun of wanting to keep turning that page. I am so glad I had the chance to read it! Thank you. I would read another by the author in a second. =)

Ooh, I love RABCKs, especially when the previous journallers say good things about the book. Thanks, dvg. I promise to pay it forward. And then some.

One thing I've noticed more and more lately is the way in which women authors write women characters who are... nasty. Mean. Petty. Bitchy. Usually it's everyone but the heroine, but Izzie and Maddy are SO awful about the people around them that I just can't.

And I get it. I don't like the majority of the people who live around me. But their unrelenting meanness got old fast. While I can relate to them in this one aspect of our lives, I also don't want to hang around them. They're... kind of like the people I don't like. Unrelentingly sour, with nothing about them to endear them to me.

No, thanks.
