Small town Winnegpeg Canada brought to life.

I picked this book up off of a bookswapping shelf at a hostel in Beijing.

It is perfect for my friend Bybee who has been doing a Canadian authors challenge.

I really enjoyed the story and all of it's oddly named characters. From Hosea Funk, Algren's cooky mayer, to Summer Feeling, the four year old who can't stop flapping her arms when she gets excited. It was a good, quick, fun read.

A nice, light read. Toews is really good with character-driven novels.

A delightful read that draws you in and makes you miss the characters when it is over.
