Rosemary Remembered

Very enjoyable read! Of the China Bayles series the only other one I've read is the first one. I believe that this is the 5th in the series, and I plan to read the previous books in order to catch up with the marvelous character developement. For those not familiar with the series, China Bayles is a former Houston lawyer who became disenchanted who chucked her career and opened an herb shop in a small Texas town when she realized that she was becoming jaded and disenchanted with the law. The series is full of interesting facts about herbs and even occasional recipes, and China's enthusiasm for herbs is integral to the stories. Her love interest is a policeman/educator who has a young son. Somehow, China always seems to find herself involved in the midst of a murder investigation.
(I would present the blurb from the back of the book, but I have a feeling that you probably feel you've read enough at this point, and would rather not read further ;) )

Receieved from MissTree; Got a chance to meet her and her husband and spend a few minutes with them :) Thanks TBR
Overall good writing, fast read with likeable characters. Given a 7 as the murderer and motive can be quickly and easily identified very early in the book despite the red herrings. But an enjoyable read and I would not hesitate to read other books within this series.

Just received in the mail. In spite of my recent disagreement with this author (or perhaps because of it) I am bound and determined to finish this series. 'Nuff said. I'll journal and send back to Betsy-STL ASAP. Thanks for the loaner!
Of all the books in the China Bayles series, this one has been the only disappointment so far. The story behind the mystery is a good one, but the puzzle was an easy one and I had it nailed almost immediately, but it was still fun to read it and see how it played out. I started Rueful Death last night and it seems to be another great mystery though. This will go back to Betsy-STL when I finish the other books she let me borrow!
"Rosemary Remembered" arrived back to me safely today, thanks to Lightwavz, a GREAT bookcrosser.
