My husband and I, along with a coworker, read this as an audio book and we all loved it. We could hardly wait to get in the car to and from work to hear more of the characters on the isle of Guernsey, occupied by the Germans during WWII.

The book is told as a series of letters written after the war by a British author who becomes intrigued by the occupation and the rather quirky island inhabitants. You come to feel as if you know and care about all of them and how their stories unfold.

I have recommended this book to quite a few people because it is simply a wonderful read.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

This is my first book release and is in memory of my father, Edward (Ted) Giering Jr., who read to me when I was small and taught me to love books! Exactly what you would expect a librarian and teacher to do with his daughter...

September 26 would be his birthday and so my mother, my husband and I are releasing the book this weekend at the bench and tree in McCord Park dedicated to him.

He was stationed in England right after WWII, which is the setting for "Guernsey". It is a wonderful story and I know he would have loved this book, as I hope you, kind reader will as well.

One final note: my father was a true Francophile. If any of the readers who "catch" this book are going to Europe, it would be wonderful to release it into the wild there.

Enjoy!
