Will be listening to this evening and then forwarding out to the winner of a sweepstakes.
Thank you for the sweepstakes RABCK, spaceystacey! I listened to a Brad Meltzer book and a book read by Kate Burton earlier in the year, so I think I will enjoy this one that combines them both.
I wanted to like this more than I actually did, but the plot and the characters and even the "reader" made that difficult. First, the plot seemed to go on some illogical tangents early on that damaged the credibility of the action in my eyes (or would it be ears?). Second, the characters' motivations often rang untrue. Not always, but often. Third, though I enjoyed the previous book read by Kate Burton, in this one, some of her inflections really changed the tone of the story. If I had been reading the book, I would have read certain lines differently and that would have changed how I felt about things. I'm not giving up on Brad Meltzer or Kate Burton, but I'm hoping they both do better next time out.

Thanks a lot, footymadgill! Just picked it up at the UnCon...
A legal thriller that starts off rather slow, then takes up speed with some unpredictable twists and turns. The plot is somewhat bizarre – husband & wife = prosecution & defence are plotted against each other. The characterisations are a bit weak, lack depth, and I found the dialogues somehow poor. But it kept me entertained while confined to bed with a flu.
