I am now almost done reading this, only a few pages left. I will send the book on around Christmas but might not get to do a release note because I won't have a computer where I will spend the holidays. Thus the book might arrive at the next reader's place before I get to journal it again.
What can I say? - Another great book in the Percy Jackson series! It is as good a story and as fun to read as the first one was. I'll start reading the third book right after this one.
Thanks again for sharing, Crossing-Guard!

One thing that really struck me was when Annabeth learns that hubris is her fatal flaw. In explaining hubris to Percy (who confused hubris with hummus), she says: "Don't you ever feel that way? Like you could do a better job if you ran the world?" (200). While I don't see myself in the dictionary definition of hubris (presumption, originally towards the gods; pride, excessive self-confidence), I can definitely relate to Annabeth.
I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
I'm mailing this book off to JerrilynnL today.

I had forgotten how good these books could be. Greek myth is such a fertile playground for stories and Riordan gives each a modern twist. I'm really tempted to go out and find the other books in the series, but I will be patient and wait for the other bookrings to get to me.
