A well-written folktale of the Kweedishchaaht, aka The Makah, aka the People of the Cape, which tells the story of the Basket Woman, a giant that comes after sunset to steal children who linger along the shoreline.

After the story is some history, with pictures of The Makah, and learning that they were one of The People that kept slaves, as well as some of the other nearby tribes, this tale makes sense as a way to protect their children from being taken into slavery.
