I bought this book because I knew The Lovely Bones by the same author was a bestseller. I had no clue what is about as I had not read the blurb!

Lucky is definitely an interesting read. Sebold manages to convey her emotions well and the style with which she writes makes it almost feel like a novel, rather than a memoir. Sebold’s bravery, courage and strength really shine and make you admire her spirit instead of pitying her. These qualities unite to give a sense of hope and I would recommend this book to any rape victim or someone affected by rape.

Sebold’s literary style has left me anticipating The Lovely Bones. I think it is about time I read it, before the film comes out!

Just finished reading this amazing book. It is a horible subject matter but one that i think is important to be told. I admire Alice's openness about what she went through and it has deftinatly made me think about keeping myself safe when i am walking home.

Going to see if anybody is interested in a bookring.

I totally enjoyed this, I was surprised that the starting was so detailed and I was hurt that Lila didn't want Alice's help or didn't pursue the investigation! I loved the court bits, it was really interesting and I could read for ages and ages about that particular bit! I didn't see the point in the "Aftermath" it was just there, and some bits felt really boring and it was sluggish trying to read that particular bit, but then again, others may have enjoyed that bit!

Thank you ashleigh4985 for letting me sign up, Frangelle has asked to be skipped so I'm trying the next person, but still no reply, I shall try again later, and if still no reply, I'll ask the next person!

I've finished reading the book and I've enjoyed it a lot. I love Alice's personality and she came off as a very strong woman. I particulaly like this phrase of the book:

You save yourself or you remain unsaved.

I'll send this book to the next participant this week.

An amazing book about a very strong woman. I really appreciate that Alice Sebold wrote the book and let other people know what she went through, and came out on the other side a a person who faught her way back to a "normal" life. She is definitely a brave and courageous woman.
A great read!

Will send it on to the next person in line on Monday.

I loved it. It actually made me cry in the end. Sorry it took me so long to do this. I haven't had internet in awhile but I've read it and I'm going to send it to the next person. I recommend it to anyone who can read. It was such a great book. It took me forever to read it because I was on another book but when I got to it I could not put it down, I finished it in two days.
