Some interesting back story about Milo but somehow not very satisfying.
Journal Entry 2 by ayna at -- Controlled Release in -- Controlled Release, -- By post or by hand/ in person -- United Kingdom on Tuesday, June 10, 2003
Released on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at bookcrossing meetup in Central London, London United Kingdom.
From the back cover:
"LA psychologist-detective Alex Delaware confronts a long-unsolved murder of unspeakable brutality - an ice-cold case whose resolution threatens his survival, and that of longtime friend, homicide detective Milo Sturgis.
The nightmare begins when Alex receives an envelope wrapped in coarse blue paper, with no return address. Inside is a ringbinder with gold letters on it - THE MURDER BOOK . The album is full of macabre pictures of murders, taken at the scene of the crime, with brief descriptions of how, and why, the victims died. But only one picture is marked "Not Solved" - the horrifically mutilated body of a young woman dumped in a ditch. Unsettled, Alex calls Milo, who seems strangely familiar with the case. How is Milo connected to it, and could the gruesome collection be the work of a police insider? If so, why has it been sent to Alex - and by whom?".
I couldn't resist picking up this book, another one in the Dr. Delaware's series, since I have read all the previous ones :-)
I will make another entry after I have read it, but since I have a quite tall pile of book TBR right now, it could take some weeks....

It took more than "a few weeks" to start reading this one, thanks to the huge amount of bookrings and bookrays I signed for...shame on me! However, I have to say that I took this book with me on my recent business trip to Manchester, and once started reading it I was hooked...I am now on my second day and well over the first 250 pages of it. It's another gripping story...more when I've finished reading!
Just finished it and no big surprise again... Jonathan Kellerman delivers the goods and it's amazing how he still manages to keep a reader hooked to a story...567 pages and no boredom to be found! The most interesting thing in the book was to find out a bit about Milo Sturgis' past, when he started his career as a detective, and found himself assigned with his partner to a nasty case...murder of course.
I am passing on this book to my good friend and fellow BCer, biber, visiting these days all the way from Germany, and who is also a big Kellerman fan. Enjoy!

I got this book from Yowlyy and finally finished it last week. I enjoyed reading it as much as the previous Kellerman books - it is a pity that it took me so long to read it (lots of work grrr)
It is going to be sent as a surprise to a bookcrosser in Wales....
