This is an amazing book. The description of the setting is very complex and detailed. The development of the characters comes through the dialogue, but forms a complete portrayal.
It seems like Middle Earth exists on its own, as an independent country, instead of being formed in the readers' minds. Tolkien makes the land so complete that it seems like one could just walk into Middle Earth.
Note to readers: Make sure you have read the Hobbit first. It is the prequel to the LOTR series, and it is necessary to read if you want to comprehend the history of the Ring. This book is available in almost every library and certainly every bookstore.
Have fun!
