On the back of the book:
From SWIMMING LESSONS
On the back of the shelf, behind the jars, leans a pink envelope. I'd forgotten that Wednesday is Valentine's Day, but J.W. hasn't. He never does forget anniversaries or birthdays or celebrations. I'm wondering why he wanted me to find it early, tucked where he knew I'd see it first thing this morning after he's left me alone. Marna
I bend my neck and stare at the water, a pale shimmery turquoise studded with reflections. Black lines bisect the pool bottom. I see some numbers, too, but have no idea what they mean. Still holding on to the rail, I lower my face toward the water... Laurel
Swimming Lessons wasn't really that great good of a book. I bought it from the Library a couple of years ago for 25¢ because I liked the Title and the Cover Art. I figurd out the story early on and it ended totally unbelievable even for fiction. The only good thing about it was that I really liked the main characters, Marna and Laurel.
