Wanted to read this for ages but never got around to buying it - spotted it today in a charity shop so decided to add it to my collection. Will read and release.

This is a great book and an easy read - it took me 3 hours tops and was mostly read on the train to and from the office today. Before this i read both the Stieg Larsson Millenium Books so this was really dropping the pace but I enjoyed the story none the less.
My situation was the opposite to Changez's as i was working in the middle east when 9/11 actually happened. Unlike people living in the west, i missed out on much of the media hoopla due to being to living in an isolated place and so this has left me with a very different perception of events. The day after the towers came down many people approached me in the street and said how sorry they were for what had happened in america, how appalling the felt it was and what a tragic loss of life. Even then there was a palpable sense among the local muslim community where i was working that while this was a tragic loss for many people in america, the true price of a few peoples actions would be felt much more strongly across the muslim world as america sought to punish those she perceived as a threat.
Another one ticked off the 1001 books list.
This book is available to a good home upon request!
