I'm not sure if I'll read this or not... vampires really aren't my thing. I bought this for somebody else. The movie was interesting enough.

I really enjoyed this, it was a little weird to get your head around, but after a while it's easier and I sorted my head out a bit. I'm very interested in reading the sequels, which I'll get in the book spiral I have signed up with!

I shall send this off when I have the time, maybe next saturday!

Well... I thought this was ok, but nothing like as good as the hype - I've been told by friends that its the weakest in the series (I guess it has alot of nessecary backstory) which is a shame - I may try others if i stumble across them but I certainly wont be rushing out to buy!
Still, thanks for sharing - and as always much much better than the film :)
Anyway, its in the post to the USA now

got it today, it's going onto my mountian of bookrings to read, but I hope I won't hold it up to long. :) Thank you! :)

Definatly the weakest in the Vampire Chronicals...at least up until I have read of the series. I just plain don't like Louis, all he does is whine and whine about him immortality and everyone around him. I have read this book for what is now the third time, and each time I seem to like it less, and really have to push myself to finish it. I am glad that for the most part in the later books Louis got shoved aside, Lestat is MUCH more intresting. But at the very least it was good to re-read this with all the vampire craze swirling about me. I am hopeful that in time I will reall ALL of the Vampire Chronicals, I have always enjoyed Lestat, yet I lost patience with Memnoch the Devil, but I keep telling myself eventully I am going to read them all! The characters...sans Louis and Armand, are utterly complelling. Hmm....Louis and Armand should be BFF...all they do is whine! :P

This is one of few books where the film is better, the film cuts thought all the unnessary details, and goes right to the dark heart of the story.

Will travel very soon! :)

I passed this on to the next reader in the book ring. I love Anne Rice's writing; she's fantastic. The genre is not my norm and I probably won't read any other vampire books. My interest was peaked b/c the author commented that she felt it was one of the two best novels she's ever written (the other being my all-time favorite "Road to Cana")
Even if one doesn't love the topic, a reader can't help admiring her skill.

The book arrived. It's going on my TBR stack for now.

I liked this book. Especially the way the main caracter describes his troubles.

Well, I have about 90 pages to go. This book is a bit frustrating, as it doesn't read as fast as I normally read. Every time I start this book it is quite interesting, but when I get in the story it gets harder every time. But it is interesting, just not a book you can read in one sitting. I now read it every night when I put my daughter to bed. I lie next to her and while she's falling asleep, I read a few pages. Anyway, I hope to finish it this week, so will PM Whateverman, so that it can travel further asap.

Journal Entry 17 by wingdutch-bookwing from Heerenveen , Fryslân (Friesland) Netherlands on Monday, April 26, 2010
I just finished it today! And it's hard to say what I thought of this book. It is actually quite interesting, but also a little hard to read. But said that, I wouldn't say no to a next book of this writer and one of this chronicle.
The first PM to Whateverman had no response, so I'll give it another try.

I really enjoyed reading this. It's my first Anne Rice's book and I'm glad I finally got around to reading it. I'm going on holidays now but when I come back I'll see if anyone else would like to read this book.

By the way, could someone tell me where's the link for this book spiral? Thanks!
