Like Water for Chocolate
5 journalers for this copy...
Another one on the 1001 books list. Bought in St Andrews which FYI is a brilliant place to get second hand books. I got 14 books for under £20 here today! Will read and release soon.
This book was ok but as a general rule i am not so keen on those magic realist tradition book such as those by isabel allende and louis de bernieres. to be honest i found the recipe bits quite boring and not an effective way to move the plot along, although i did enjoy the rest of the story. To conclude; interesting and different but not an author i would seek out again.
Now on offer as a 1001 books book ray.
This book is going out as a book ray and travelling in the following order:
shovelmonkey1 UK (will post Int'l)
jozebedee UK (UK/EU post)
Danielle23 UK (UK post)
EmgeeNL NL (Intl post)
Hereticcoy US <----- THIS BOOK IS TRAVELLING HERE!

sending this out as a bookring. please let me know it has arrived safely. Thanks for participating.
Received this morning. Will get 2 it asap!
I have to say that I really enjoyed this! I did actually enjoy the interplay of the recipes with the storyline, and thought that it was very original. (Some of the recipies looked really yummy lol!) The actual story kept me gripped, and I finished this in 2 sittings. I really felt for Tita, and the way in which she was forced to live her life. I'm glad she followed her heart, although its a shame how the book ended.
Thanks again shovelmonkey1 for letting me read this, and for allowing me to keep it longer than I had hoped.
I will be sending off to Danielle next.

Posted - enjoy it Danielle!
Thanks Jo, I really look forward to reading this although it may take me a while to get to. I promise I'll get to it as soon as I can xx
I finished this book in one sitting and found it highly enjoyable. I am undecided on the recipe parts of the storyline but understand that the love of Tita and Pedro live on in the recipes that she created. I enjoyed the ending too, as happy as it could be for most characters concerned but I feel very sorry for John, where was his happy ending??
A beautiful love story that I am so pleased to have read.
I will post this on next to EmgeeNL, the next in line, the next time I visit the very seasonally busy post office. Thanks so much for sharing this book Caz xx

Mailed the book in Brooklyn, NY so it should arrive quite fast. Hope you enjoy the book.
I received this book quite a while ago. Life, in general, has gotten in the way of participating in Book Crossing. I feel terrible about the delay and I have already apologized to ShovelMonkey and now I would like to apologize the bookray participants.
BTW: ShovelMonkey, I found it :)I was more than willing to replace it if it was gone but I'm glad I have the original.
I'll check to see who gets this next and send it off.
Edited to Add -
I just realized I'm the last in the ray. I'll read it quickly and get a review posted.
