Perhaps the most widely-read philosophy book the world has ever known since it was released in 1974, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is a modern-day classic. It moved me when I first read it at the age of 21, and did so even more on my second time through at age 34.

Pirsig's storytelling style is unmatched as he weaves heavy-duty ethical philosophy meanderings in-between stories from a motorcycle roadtrip with his young son. Based on true accounts of his remarkable life and brush with "insanity," this profoundly important book is a must-read for any serious student of the "meaning of life."

I highly recommend this book! It provides incredible insight into how ones time is spent, and the importance of quality. I will be looking for his sequel next.

Ok, got this back from Bruce, so now I'm leaving it on a table over lunch around 1pm.

Ha! That barely hit the table before I snapped it up. Your going to have to release books farther away from the office. :)
After the rave reviews I had to check this out.
I stopped at YJ's again after work to take another look at the books you "dropped" there, but it looked like they had already been found.

I'll add a revew after I've had a chance to dive into it.
I was kind of hoping this would have some tips on getting my '82 Yamaha Maxim running & ready for the summer but it doesn't seem to be going in that direction. ...then again, maybe it will.

Journal Entry 5 by Phillip at camp site in Niangua, Missouri USA on Thursday, July 11, 2002
Release planned for Sunday, July 14, 2002 at camp site in Niangua, Missouri USA.

This one is really being released into the wild. After finishing it this weekend I'm going to leave it at the Niangua River canoeing camp site. If we keep getting poured on I'll probably finish a couple of books while I'm there.

I'd go crazy if we got rained on all weekend and I didn't have a book. Hopefully the next person to find it will need something to pass the time.
It's kind of an appropriate setting for this book too.
