Hello! I'm very new to this. I found this book at the Visitors Center/Museum in Fairfax, VA. My family and I were on vacation in Virginia. We had a wonderful time and found the people in Virginia to be very friendly. The book is now with me at my home in Kokomo Indiana. I'm only on chapter 3 but so far I am really enjoying it! I will make other entries to update you on the book. I am trying to keep it in as good as shape as possible so that when I'm done I can put it in the wild. This is a really cool idea!

CAUGHT IN FAIRFAX VIRGINIA USA

Journal Entry 4 by Chris1230 from Kokomo, Indiana USA on Friday, August 7, 2009
Hello! I am very much a rookie at this and not really sure about all of the ins and outs of it but I enjoyed reading about your coincidence and wanted you to know what became of the book. My family and I recently visited Washington D.C. We weren't sure where to go so we parked at the museum in Fairfax and went inside to ask the ladies there for information about the city and how to get around in it etc... They were very kind and pointed us in the right direction. We left our van parked there and took a bus and the metro train into the city. This was the day of the shooting at the Holocaust Museum. We were actually about two city blocks away when the shooting took place. We noticed a lot of activity and sirens and I wandered if Washington D.C. was always like this. We later heard of the sad event at the museum. Other than that, we had a wonderful day and everyone we met was exceptionally friendly. When we got back to the museum in Fairfax, my Mom went over to a bench as the rest of our family went to the car. I asked her what she was doing and she said that she had to check something. She came back with the book in her hand and said that before we left to the city she saw the book sitting on the bench and decided if it was still there when we got back that she was going to pick it up. She decided that Tom Clancy was more of a "man's author" and that I would probably like the book more than her. I decided she was probably right so I took the book. My name is Chris, I am 45 years old, married with 3 children. We live in Kokomo, Indiana. I am about half way done with the book (I am a slow reader and unfortunately do not get as much time to read as I would like) and am enjoying it very much. I am trying to keep it in as good as shape as possible so that when I'm done I can also set it "in the wild" for someone else to enjoy. This is a really cool idea and I just wanted you to know what happened to the book. I also wanted to thank you for it and for introducing me to BookCrossing!
