I finally got around to reading this book and I made rather short time of it too. I loved that it was a mixture of history and mystery. It was, in my opinion, a rather good tale that floated between two time periods and revolved around 3 ancient religious books, a labyrinth and rings that could unlock the secrets. Kate Mosse starts us off on an archeological dig as the Alice Tanner discovers a cave containing ancient bones, a ring and a labyrinth carved into the cave wall. Little does she know how connected she is to this finding and how much danger she has set herself in and others with her discovery. As the mystery unfolds Mosse also takes the reader into the lives of the 13th century Pelletier family, their connection to the Cathers and the Holy Grail. Some very good twists, turns and and ghosts from the past.
