Given to me in a box of books by Lynne.

An enjoyable medical thriller, raising some interesting issues about organ transplants. It does drag a little towards the end.

Will be left at the windmill pub at the meeting tonight

Dr Abby Di Matteo is an overworked second year surgical resident in Boston's Bayside Hospital. She is living with a senior surgeon Dr Mark Hodell. Everything seems fine until one day a rich patient needs a heart transplant she is not top of the list. A poor teenage boy is.Abbey and a senior resident decide that the boy needs the heart more than an aging rich woman, and as she isn't top of the list, the boy is he will have it. So the boy gets the transplant and for Abby, all hell is let loose. She is severely disciplined. Then magically a few days later the rich lady gets a heart. Where did it come from? The donor papers are missing and the doctor that delivered the heats doesn't seem to exist.Abby decides to dig deeper and discovers a whole other world of transplant organs that is deeply disturbing. Her bosses find out what she's been doing and that's when things get really dangerous for Abby. She finds that someone is trying to discredit her and make her look crazy.

Its a really good gripping read. I just found the bit with the boys on the boat( you'll find out if you read it ) a little far fetched in joining up the dots.
