I enjoyed this well crafted fantasy from Terry Goodkind. It is the first of a rather long series and I must confess I haven't been sufficiently motivated to read the rest. However, the world is well realised and the main characters are likeable (well the likeable ones are). The bad guys are suitably grim, even quite inventive. There is a strong overarching story arch of good, evil and sacrifice. Overall a good one of these.
