The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream (Vintage)

I'd meant to read this book for months... but I already have so many! Finally, I broke down and bought the damn thing at Pathmark.
This book does not necessarily reflect my taste or opinions. I tried to grab books that looked to be in good shape. If there's no further comment below this entry, I haven't read it.

OK, I have a PresidentCrush on this man. Sorry, can't be helped.
Would you believe that despite the common sense approach and the logic and it's highly understandable language, that I still had trouble reading more than two or three pages at a time? The WHY of this elluded me for a bit, but eventually I came to understand that the issues facing this country REALLY hard to digest and parse in one's head.
That's probably why FOX NEWS is so popular.
Anyhoo... great book, great man... leaving this for my lovely wife to read.

My wife fiished this months ago and then it traded hands with her friends for awhile.
My wife's views, surprisingly, mirror mine to a great extent. She loved the stories of his life and agrees with his assessment is that all we have to do is get everyone to change the way business is done.
ON the other hand, she found swathes of the book boring. After watching all the tea-baggers and Birthers out there, we're both scratching our heads at how thick people can be and how very entrenched the Liars and Cheaters are. We know we need someone like Obama... hell, we need more people like Obama... but I guess there a something inside of us that wants fire and blood.
Ever see the SNL skit where Rom Emmanuel dreams of a Hulklike "The Rock Obama?" The book could have used some of that. :-) I bet the audio book with Obama reading it wouldn't seem lacking...
