The Two Towers (The Lord of the Rings, Part 2)
4 journalers for this copy...
From the back cover:
The Fellowship was scattered. Some were bracing hopelessly for war against the ancient evil of Sauron. Some were contending with the treachery of the wizard Saruman. Only Frodo and Sam were left to take the accursed Ring of Power to be destroyed in Mordor-the dark Kingdom where Sauron was supreme. Their guide was Gollum, deceitful and lust-filled, slave to the corruption of the Ring.
This is one of my Favorite books!

I'm putting this in jsmeltsers 1001 book box.
I've got a copy of this book in my permanent collection and last year I registered another copy here. I thought it was rather boring, to be honest, but I couldn't quite figure out why I found it so. After seeing the Jackson movies, I finally understood. This book feels like a filler book, a second in a trilogy. It literally can't stand alone. It exists to link the action of the first to the resolution of the third. It just wasn't as interesting or as intense as Fellowship and couldn't provide the dramatic tension as Return of the King.
Putting back in the 1001 Book Box.

How funny!
This book was last journaled by me nearly a year ago, but it hasn't been with me all this time. I mailed it out last May in the 1001 Bookbox and visited at least five other people in the interval, including these BookCrossers:
- Oldbroad
- gomboggit
- angieaustin
- waterfalling
- jsmeltser
How funny! I hope the book has better luck finding a master this round!

This book enjoyed a brief visit in San Jose, CA before continuing its journey with jsmeltser's 1001 Books Bookbox!

Picked out of jsmeltser's 1001 Book Box.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as book 1. The first half was very slow and often confusing; it got confused between character names and places. Also, I kept forgetting which characters were elves or hobbits or other. I think that's where the films work better in helping me remember who everyone is. Still prefer the books over the films overall.
Hoping to get all 3 of these book travelling in the summer.

This trilogy was on riffraff71's Wishlist, all 3 books are now on the way to her.
Thank you so much for sending me this. I feel by my age I should really have read them or watched the films! Not sure how it passed me by!
