An engrossing history of an event that is not widely known about outside of China.The most inspiring story that comes out of this book is about a small group of Europeans and Americans who were able to create a "safety zone" in the city and saved approx 300 000 Chinese from the death,rape and torture at the hands of Japanese soldiers.
