Pulitzer Prize winner, going into a bookbox
Rec'd in Trekwoman's "Everyone's a Prize Winner!" Bookbox 3.0!
I totally read this book in high school. I didn't really like it, but I think that had less to do with Alice Walker's work and more to do with "This is high school, let's analyze the crud out of every aspect of the story." Bah humbug to that! I did think that Celie's description of her husband's genitals as being like a 'frog' to be absolutely fantastic, and I absolutely embarrassed my boyfriend years later by using the term because I thought it would be hilarious. (It was!) I'm sure my English teacher would be proud.

Another excellent book by Alice Walker. I have read this previously, and so will send it traveling in teeney's Books to Movies box. Thank you!
I took this book from a book-to-movie bookbox. I've seen the movie, and I'm sure the book will be just as wonderful.
