second copy. A british SF writer who has the best of concepts, but the writing doesn't quite reach the highest category.

Difficult one. It starts off well, but somewhere in the second half of the book things get a bit hard to grasp. I'll leave it for others to decide whether that's the writing or me running out of headspace. :-)
