From the back cover:

From the moment I stuck my face in this book it hooked me! Totally awesome new take on vampires! Marked is hot and dark and funny. It rocks!----Gena Showalter, Author of mtv's Oh My Goth

Enter the dark, magical world of the house of night, a world very much like our own, except here vampyres have always existed. Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird has just been Marked as a fledgling vampyre and joins the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampyre. That is, if she makes it through the Change--and not all of those who are Marked do. it sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no average fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampyre Goddess Nys. Zoey discovers she has amazing powers, but along with her powers come bloodlust and an unfortunate ability to Imprint her human ex-boyfriend. To add to her stress, she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers: When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny--with a little help from her new vampyre friends.

An excellent book, placing in my availables.

I am sending this book to JennyC1230. I think you have already read this one, but I decided to send it anyway to keep the set together. I thought that way if you wanted to pass along to someone else or start a spiral, then you would have the complete set.
Thanks for being such a great bc friend. I enjoy having someone to send my favorite books to!!!

"A book is a mysterious object, I said, and once it floats out into the world, anything can happen. All kinds of mischief can be caused, and there's not a damned thing you can do about it. For better or worse, it's completely out of your control."

I was fully prepared to not like this book, because as you know if you step into a book store these days, almost every young adult book is focused on the supernatural (thank you Stephanie Meyer) but this series is original in nature and well written. I am excited to read the third book when I can.
