Not my kind of book, judging by the cover, but worth a try nonetheless, especially as it was recommended (and in fact given to me) by a friend.
This is definately not my type of book - the white cover, the soft focus picture of a child, the title written in script - it just screamed childhood misery of the Dave Peltzer sort. However I will admit that it was better than others of this ilk as the writing was pretty good (with the exception of a few annoyances, e.g. she is always 'regarding' things rather than just looking at them, like the rest of us do). It reads like a novel, until you get to the end where it sort of peters away. But to be fair to the author (and she admits this) it's a true story, and if it had a neat, pat ending, she would be abandoning the facts. An easy read, great for a holiday or long commute.
