You know, asking me where I caught the book when I just want to write about it makes no sense to e. Anyhoo.........
It took me forever to finish this thing. Mostly eye problems, but the book itself presented problems.Bova is usually better than this. I found his descriptions pointless and distracting. It seemed as if he'd just fotten a book on "how to write a novel" and every now and then would put in a page of purple prose.
Also annoying was the soap opera-ish nature of the book. At times I expected Rick to walk into the fog after he sent Ilsa on her way to America, or (worse) Sindney Carton to do a far far better thing. This was a very hack job.
Some of the technical ideas are rather interesting and it was for this I rated the book as 5 out of ten.
I hope the next reader enjoys it better than I.
