I am sure that there is a great book to be written about the Cathars and the Inquisition, sadly I don't think this is it. A book that is 200 pages too long with unsympathetic characters detracts from the fascinating historical setting. I am also surprised that an airhead model can write at all (hee hee).

I found this rather complicated in terms of people - so many characters who's names began with an "A"! The ending was a bit unbelievable but overall I found it enjoyable and interesting.

Took it on holiday which gave me a chance to get stuck into a longer read. I'm glad I only took a few days to read this as there were lots of characters and places to remember and I think I would have lost the thread if I'd just been reading a little bit at a time over a longer time frame.
I enjoyed this adventure/thriller although you do have to suspend disbelief a bit. A shame that the leading lady Alice was a bit of a dipstick too so I didn't feel that sorry for her when she got into scrapes. However it didn't spoil my overall enjoyment and I think this is a great holiday read.
