This book was chosen because it is on the 2009 Reading Olympics list for Bucks County, and Morrisville's Gifted 6-12 students are required to read one Reading Olympics book per month this school year. Our goal is to get the books on the list, journal about them as we read them, have a release party at the end of the school year, and track the journey of our books next school year. We're excited to see where this book goes!

I'm not really sure that this book should be on the middle school list for Reading Olympics. I read it in about an hour. The type was huge, and there were less than 100 pages. Aside from that it wasn't too bad. The story and moral were nice... that the elderly have a lot to offer us, and that offering them our time can be invaluable to them. I am reminded of an elderly gentleman I used to read to when I was in elementary school. He helped me to become a better reader, and I helped him by keeping him company. It was a wonderful friendship, and I am still disappointed in myself that we lost touch after fifth or sixth grade. I suppose we have different priorities when we are younger.

I'm releasing this book into my classroom. I'm assuming that Kevin will pick it up since he hasn't picked a book for this month yet. :)

Hello, my name is Mikie and I am with the MHS Gifted program. I thought this book was a very interesting book. It is about a boy named Mitchell. He got in trouble and had to talk to a person online who lived in a retirement home. The reason he had to do that is because when his neighbor lost her cat, she was very lonely. She was old, and could no do much. So to play a joke, Mitchell and his friend, Trotter made cat noises so that the old noises would think that her cat was in the bushes. But when she heard the noises and tried to go down the stairs, she fell and his her head. She had to go to the hospital, and felt very bad when she found out that it wasn't actually the cat that was making the sound. So Mitchell has to talk to a woman online for a half an hour every week. But Mitchell begins to like the woman, and talks to her about the incident. The lady makes Mitchell feel better about what he did. So overall, I would give this book a ten out of ten because it is a very interesting book, and i enjoyed the whole book.

My name is Nick this book gets a 10. It gets a ten because it is the best short reading olimpic book ever. It is about a named michel how gets in trouble for makeing a old lady fall and hurt her self. Him and a his freind trotter made the lady fall. So because of this he now has to go to the police station after school and has to talk to a old lady online. He end ups be freinding the nice old lady and she gives him helpful advice. so i liked this book

I enjoyed this book. This book was really short, but aside from that, the story line and moral were pretty good. This book is about a boy named Mitchell who gets in trouble by pulling a prank on an old lady who gets hurt. Because of this, Mitchell is obliged to do community service by chatting online with an elderly woman from an nursing home. Mitchell gets advice from his new friend online and in the end, he stands up to the bully that has been bothering him and some kids in the neighborhood. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a quick book and a good story.
