This book is about a future where books are the cause of all unhappiness and disruption - and are burned by a special task-force of firemen. NICE!

Anyway, I haven't read the book, and that's mainly why I'm letting it go. I hope that someone can tell me whether it is worth reading.

Fahrenheit 451 is the tempeature at which book-paper catches fire and burns. Now you know!

Released on Monday, May 19, 2003 at Telefonboks in København, København Centrum Denmark.

The book was left in the department store "Illum" at the top floor, in the area where the phones and toilettes are.

I was checking if someone had released any new books - and suddenly I saw that this classic was waiting in Illum.
Strangely enough it was lying there untouched at that crowded spot. Lucky me! I'm looking forward to reading it and when I have done so I will write a comment - and release it again.
At first I wrote this entry in Danish but then it came to my mind that an English book probably would prefer an entry in English!

This book still lies in my TBR-stack but tutmarie wants to read it. So I pass it on to her so she can read it. After reading it she will give it back to me and when I have also read it, I will release it into the wild again.
Enjoy, tutmarie!

Thanks Majosim for letting me borrow this book, too. Although science fiction is not usually my genre, I expect this book to be different. I hope it won't be too sad to read about books being burnt.

This book is weird! It starts out by being quite hard to read and understand. But it picks up and is quite an entertaining read, yet also scary! They burn books! Arghh...

Journal Entry 7 by Majosim from Roskilde, Roskilde Amt Denmark on Thursday, May 29, 2003
Thanks tutmarie. Now it's back in my tbr-stack and I will start reading it in a moment. Reading your description makes me look forward to reading it!

Just finished this weird and disturbing but also entertaining book. It's very obvious that it is written half a century ago. It tells us more about the fifties' relation to technology and it's future than it tells about anything else. Still, it generates many thoughts.

Another one I got at the Meetup Thursday - my father grabbed it at once, so I haven't had the chance to journal it until now. Having done that, I'll return it to his reading table. Thanks Majosim!

I read this in one sitting, lying on my bunk in a school gym in Berlin, just staring, shaking at times, the words burning into my head. The future vision is still extremely relevant, with its' focus on violence, people's need for empty entertainment and the denial of anything negative - still lots to think about even 50 years later. Actually, the book-burning may be one of the few less likely things to happen. The language is amazing and the story is quick, and this is a book I'll have to buy my own copy of.

Sent to Tyressia in a 'blind trade'. Hope you like it better than Neuromancer!

What a great surprise to find in my mailbox this morning! :) Thank you so much! I haven't read it, but I heard great things about it, so I'm looking forward to finding out for myself.

Thanks again!

I read this while I was away for a few days before Christmas. I loved some of the ideas in it and it gave plenty of food for thought (as a few others have said). A book which I will probably end up buying myself to re-read.

I checked the wish lists and sent it on yesterday to blacksheeps99 - hope you enjoy it too!
