Can't believe I've had this book for two years! (well, actually, i can!)

Finally finished reading it last night. I struggled to get into it, really a shame that I only enjoyed the last third as I think it was quite a good story, not sure if I just didn't pay enough attention, was getting very confused with the various characters at the beginning.

It was an interesting read in terms of learning about how Greece was impacted by World War II as it is by far the country usually talked about re that dark period. I may feel this way because I only got into the story towards the end, but I felt the ending was a little abrupt in the sense that I felt the author may have felt he was going into too many details and would have a book the length of an encyclopedia if continuing at that pace, and then decided to jump years and just give the minimum necessary to say he had given an ending.

All in all though, I think it was a good read, especially, as mentioned earlier, because it made me aware of facts I knew nothing about.

Thank you karen07814 for sharing this book with me.
