Moosewood Restaurant Low-Fat Favorites: Flavorful Recipes for Healthful Meals
3 journalers for this copy...

My sweet, wonderful, darling husband got me books for Valentine's Day. How smart is he?
My father-in-law makes a vegetable lasagna, the recipe is in this book, that I actually LIKE. now, saying that doesn't mean much unless you know that my idea of vegetables is...carrots. yeah, that is about it. I like raw spinach, or spinach drowned in cheese...but other than that...carrots. I am hoping that I can actually make the lasagna recipe, and even with knowing what is in it, I will still like it.

in going through my cookbooks, I have decided to let this one go

Headed out in the Animals Bookbox (moose)

I was very happy to see a Moosewood cookbook in the Animal Bookbox!
My first choice from the box. Thank you!
My first choice from the box. Thank you!

I 've tried two recipes so far. The Potato Cheese Gnocchi had a good flavor, but the texture and appearance were not inviting, which I credit to my probably overworking the potatoes. Had somewhat better luck with Fish With Herbs and Lime. I like that all the nutritional information is provided for each recipe.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Copied out a couple of the pasta recipes to try later. On its way now to two very good cooks for Christmas--enjoy!

Thank you for this lovely Christmas gift - we'll try out some things in here and let you know! Kind of interested in the pumpkin custard and after reading innae's journal entry, the vegetable lasagna (which does have a lot of yummy carrots in it!) Perhaps I can persuade hubby-dog to make something also!
