From cat food to death, bra size to spirituality, family to goose poop (yes, goose poop), these are selections from the journals of Canadian recording artist Jann Arden. Her writing is wry and insightful, confessional and compassionate. The book's entries are culled from Jann's electronic journals that first appeared on her website in early 2000. Since that time her extraordinary ramblings have created a following independent of her well-established music career.

I really like Jann Arden's music, and I think she's very funny and clever, but I didn't really get much out of the journals. To be honest, I thought they'd be more humourous, but they are rather sad and introspective. I guess I just didn't find much in them that jumped out at me, and so I didn't wind up finishing it. Others, however, who have no expectations may enjoy this little book more.

This is the very first "Book Crossing" book I have had the pleasure in finding. Although I just begun to read it, so far I'm finding it quite the unusual yet fasinating expression of a well know female Canadian recording artist's day to day experiences, emotions and personal life perspectives.
